Every so often you stumble upon a debate which it would unprofessional not to add too.
The debate to which I refer has nothing to do with phonics or play but is littered with denialists.
I refer, of course, to the crucial debate around Peppa Pig. As a father of young children I consider myself “a bit of an expert” – I marvelled a Dora’s explorations, rejoiced at the achievements of Team Umizoomi and endured the Barbie Christmas special. But for me only one cartoon really makes the bacon and that is Peppa Pig. Yet it is a an issue that divides – there are those who wisely state a preference for Ben and Holly – which I understand, but not agree with. To me, it is comic genius of Daddy Pig which stands head and shoulders above the rest.
